Village Baking Co - Retail Store Manager

As the Retail Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping memorable customer experiences while driving store performance. You’ll lead by example, manage café teams, and ensure daily operations run smoothly. This role requires strong leadership, operational skills, and a passion for hospitality.

Qualifications

  • Proven success as a retail or café manager in a customer-facing environment
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work minimum 40 hours per week at assigned shop or in shop’s market
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and customer management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Food Handlers Certificate required (or ability to obtain)
  • College diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver outstanding customer service and hospitality
  • Train, mentor, and provide ongoing feedback to team members
  • Drive sales performance and customer loyalty through strategic goals
  • Manage daily ordering, inventory control, and commissary fulfillment
  • Oversee store conditions, cleanliness, and visual merchandising standards
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues professionally
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Support opening and closing procedures at both locations
  • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and teamwork
