The Academic Turnaround Specialist position is a great opportunity for a highly creative, problem-solving individual. Qualifications
The ideal candidate for an Academic Turnaround Specialist position should possess an educational background in teaching, preferably with a degree in education or related field. They should also have experience working in a K-12 classroom setting, preferably as a teacher or administrator. The candidate should also have knowledge of current education reform initiatives, as well as an understanding of disciplinary and academic intervention models. Aside from this, the successful candidate needs to have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, excellent organizational power, and the ability to work with diverse student populations. They should also have a passion for teaching and a commitment to improving student outcomes through data-driven guidance and interventions.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement instructional design and instructional best practices that improve student learning outcomes
• Design high-impact, performance-focused teaching and learning initiatives
• Create individual goals for student success and coordinate schools’ turnaround strategies
• Develop and coordinate professional development activities for educators
• Coordinate and facilitate academic reviews, observations, and feedback
• Monitor and report on school improvement processes
• Analyze data to inform decision-making
• Drive collaborative problem-solving processes within and across schools
• Utilize technology effectively to enhance learning outcomes
• Work cooperatively with parents, teachers, and other colleagues to support student learning
• Attend relevant meetings and professional development trainings
• Facilitate and cultivate relationships with other district and community members
• Provide administrative and operational support to schools
• Ensure that educators have access to appropriate resources and materials
